Annual Report 2014-15

We are pleased to release our 2014-15 Annual Report. This document serves not only to report on the areas of focus and actions of Committee over the last 12 months, but will be used as a reference document in representations we make in the year ahead to key stakeholders under the strategic framework of Job & Connectivity, Sustainability & Innovation and Community & Health, which emanate from the 2015 Key Issues process.

Members should feel proud of the work outlined in this document: it is only with their support that this work possible.

Thank you to outgoing Chair Judy Verlin AM

At the Annual General Meeting held last evening (Tuesday 6 October) we thanked and farewelled outgoing Chair Judy Verlin AM.

Deputy Chair, Lynne McLennan thanked Judy for her stewardship of Committee for Ballarat over the past three years. Lynne said that Judy had been an outstanding Chair who put her heart, soul and commendable intellect into the Committee for Ballarat.

At the AGM, Bill Mundy on behalf of the Board and membership, proposed a vote of thanks to Judy for her outstanding leadership of Committee for Ballarat over the past three years. Bill remarked on Judy’s commitment and great energy and said that her leadership had been palpable.

Thank you Judy, you are a prime example of the leader communities need in order to thrive.

Welcome to new Chair Janet Dore

Following her tenure as Chair-Elect, Janet Dore now takes the reins as Chair of Committee for Ballarat. In accepting the role Janet acknowledged the amazing legacy of outgoing Chair Judy Verlin AM.

Janet steps into the role of Chair with a clear understanding of the role that Committee needs to play in progressing the city.

“We need to be thought leaders and our work must look beyond the horizon, while seeking strong and visionary leadership from all 3 tiers of Government”, Janet said.

Janet added, “Committee has been a strong advocate in supporting the City of Ballarat to obtain much needed funding for major projects. But the time is now to deliver on these commitments and move forward”.

We look forward to Janet's contribution as Chair. Members will have opportunities to meet with Janet at a number of up coming events over the next few months.
