The Whitten Project - Nominations Open!

The Western Bulldogs Football Club is excited to offer students from Ballarat School’s the opportunity to connect, contribute and grow as leaders in their community through participation in The Whitten Project. The four-month youth leadership program includes mentoring opportunities from respected industry leaders and provides participants with unique platforms to build confidence make new friendships and learn how to be an effective leader.

Who is the program for?

The Whitten Project is open to males and females enrolled in years 9 or 10 who live within the municipalities of: Ballarat, Brimbank, Glenelg, Hobsons Bay, Maribyrnong, Melton or Moonee Valley. Candidates need not play sport or hold a position of leadership to be considered. We are looking for young people who have the potential to be future leaders in their community.

Participation in The Whitten Project requires an individual who is willing to challenge themselves, work as part of a team and can commit to attending workshops at Ballarat Council on weeknights and some weekends between May and August.

Participation in The Whitten Project is free and successful applicants will receive a program uniform, resource book, Western Bulldogs membership and certificate of graduation upon completion of the program.

How to apply?

The nomination form is available online from the Western Bulldogs website and takes approximately 10 minutes to complete – westernbulldogs.com.au/whittenproject

Nominations can be completed via the following two avenues;

1. Self - completed by a prospective participant or
2. Adult - a referral from a parent, school teacher, coach etc

10 participants will be selected from each local council based on the strength of the responses in their nomination. Incomplete nominations will not be considered. All applicants will be notified regarding the outcome of their nomination in mid-April.
