Inclusiveness for all community members will be at the heart of the LGBTI Equality Roadshow rolling into Ballarat next week.
The Victorian Gender and Sexuality Commissioner Ro Allen will be in the city to give a presentation on the state’s LGBTI Equality agenda as part of the roadshow being delivered across regional and rural Victoria and has requested a meeting with community and business members from Ballarat.
The purpose of the event is to reduce discrimination and promote inclusion of LGBTI people in the community. A breakfast event is being held by the Committee for Ballarat on Wednesday at Craig’s Royal Hotel.
In The Courier on 11 March 2017, Committee for Ballarat chief executive Melanie Robertson said the organisation was thrilled to be a part of the roadshow.
“If we want to promote Ballarat as a vibrant, progressive city, then these are the issues that need to be at the forefront of our community,” she said.
