Young Adult Empowerment - Nominations now Open

30 May 2012

The Young Adult Empowerment (YAE) program is an initiative of the Committee for Ballarat and is funded through Committee, its Members and the Commonwealth Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations (DEEWR) Flexible Funding Pool. It aims to empower four groups of 15 young adults over the next 18 months into full time employment. The participants are to be drawn and selected from young adults identified by community agencies as disadvantaged with barriers to employment. The young adults selected to participate in the YAE program will be involved in a four week program aimed at boosting their involvement in employment through developing skills, resources and motivation for joining the workforce. Our first program commenced in April 2012 and 15 young adults successfully completed 4 weeks of the program with several participants now engaged into employment. Our next programs are due to commence as follows: Group 2 – Monday 6th August 2012 to Friday 31st August 2012 Group 3 – Monday 8th October 2012 to Friday 2nd November 2012 Nominations for the SECOND AND THIRD groups of the Young Adult Empowerment Program (YAE) are now open!
