The Victorian Government will move 600 public sector jobs to Ballarat at a cost of $47.8 million as part of a four-year plan to decentralise the workforce.
Interviewed by the ABC on 2 May 2017 as part of a story, Committee for Ballarat CEO Melanie Robertson said bringing hundreds of jobs to the area was "hugely significant".
"But it is also the support that comes along with 600 new government employees," she said.
"It's all those service industries that come alongside it as well as all those new families coming into our region that will stimulate our economy."
