Every year Committee for Ballarat surveys its members, and as 2026 is a State Election Year, we asked members to identify priority issues they would like the State Government to focus on. We received a broad range of issues, all of which will help inform and shape our advocacy leading into the November election.
Four key themes emerged:
- Regional growth and investment in regional infrastructure
- Regional housing availability and affordability
- Transport, including roads, rail and Ballarat Airport
- Reducing red tape
As we refine our advocacy plan for November, we will do so with our long-term focus on a prosperous region, known for its liveability, sustainability and inclusiveness.
In collaboration with our members, we will work with all sides of politics and ensure our voice continues to be a trusted and robust one.
We will advocate strongly to ensure investment in our region is at least equal to the significant economic and social contribution we make to the state.
