CEO Update – July 2024

29/07/2024

The new financial year marks the start of Committee’s 2024-25 membership year. In mid 2023 Ballarat Hospice Care became our 100th business member and we are on track to keep our membership above 100 in 2024-25. Our work is only possible because of the great support of our members and I encourage all to engage with us as we deliver on our Strategic Plan in the year ahead.

We recently welcomed four new members to Committee and we look forward to their involvement. The Industry Capability Network (ICN), celebrating 40 years of work in 2024: Royal South Street Society, a Ballarat cultural institution: The Central Highlands Region’s peak multicultural agency, Ballarat Regional Multicultural Council (BRMC): and Sports Central as advocates for community Sport in the region.

These new members, together with our 100+ members and partners, can help us deliver the collaboration that Julie Bishop congratulated us for. When we bring our members together on the big issues confronting the region, we promote Thought Leadership, provide effective advocacy and keep decision makers accountable, build regional capability and capacity and model organisational excellence.

Our region continues to grow. We are working with all levels of Government to ensure a population plan and associated infrastructure plan, achieves a ‘better balance for Victoria’ with a stronger focus on regional development. Our members are front and centre in this discussion as we embrace the opportunities for our region.
