CEO Update – July 2025

29/07/2025

At our recent Winter Round Table Dinner (RTD), one member observed to another that they did not know they existed! This, despite the fact that both are long standing, well established Ballarat businesses. Such an observation highlights at least two interesting insights into Committee for Ballarat’s membership.

First, it highlights our events are great opportunities for networking and connection. Now that both organisations know each other exist, this may result in some type of business interaction that could enhance the work of both. It may not happen in that moment, but for our members to understand the capacity of others provides a point of reference, a line of enquiry and a potential business opportunity, to be developed at some time in the future.

Secondly, it highlights that at times, we can all get so caught up in our business that we miss the opportunities that a broader view can provide. Our members typically see the value in what is good for the whole region is also good for their own business.

Committee for Ballarat is one avenue for business to consider their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). Our collective impact, bringing together the robust member voice of over 100 business across all sectors, provides a powerful platform for us to help shape the future of the region as a thriving and vibrant one, recognised for its liveability, sustainability and inclusiveness.

Together, our collective impact is significant.
