Thought leadership is at the core of Committee for Ballarat’s purpose and it drives our advocacy for a thriving and vibrant region. The collective voice of our members give us strength and demonstrates alignment across industry sectors, helping us keep government and other key stakeholder accountable for their decisions.

Our Insight sessions are important to our advocacy work. These events bring members together to hear from industry-leading experts across key sectors in our regional economy. They inform, challenge, and provide a platform for members to engage in discussions about how we can influence policy and best prepare the region for future generations.

Committee’s events also foster great discussions, allowing businesses from every sector to share, collaborate, innovate, and inspire. The outcomes often see solutions to problems, the emergence of new initiatives, new contacts, business development and exciting opportunities.

In 2025, Committee for Ballarat’s Vision 2050 project aims to leverage our robust member voice to advance a clear, long-term vision for sustainable development, ensuring our economy, community, and environment thrive.

A vision matters, and we are ambitious for our city and region’s growth and prosperity. Vision 2050 aims to articulate that ambition and define the heart and soul of Ballarat and the region. It seeks to identify our aspirational points of difference and promote our unique story, one that excites our members and the broader community.

Vision 2050 will be driven by our diverse membership and include contributions from others to broaden and enhance our understanding.

As the state government implements its Plan for Victoria towards 2050, it is more important than ever for Committee for Ballarat to be the trusted voice representing every sector, encouraging all layers of decision-makers to focus on the long-term future of our region and others around the country.

Australia’s future growth must balance opportunities for both urban and regional communities. CoB will continue to advocate and lead the case for thriving and vibrant regions in Victoria and across the country. Our members make this possible.
