There is a great privilege inducting new Honorary or Life Members into an organisation, and Committee for Ballarat had great pleasure recently announcing Janet Dore and Lynne McLennan as our latest honorary members. Both have been instrumental since our inception, 20 years ago.
Honorary membership is awarded to an individual who, in the opinion of the Board, has rendered distinguished and outstanding, unremunerated service to Committee for Ballarat over a sustained period of time and whose active participation in Committee’s activities has ceased.
Janet Dore was a former Chair and Executive Chair of Committee, a long-term Learning Partner for the LBWR and Future Shapers programs and mentor to many.
Lynne McLennan was instrumental in the establishment of our flagship Community Leadership Program, providing the foresight and drive to establish our work and ensure it has continued. Lynne has been a long standing Deputy Chair, including during a period when Janet was Chair.
Janet and Lynne have always and will continue to be fierce advocates for Ballarat and the region more broadly. Both have never taken a backward step with government, business or the community in making sure our voice is heard and our influence has impact.
They role model community leadership and continue to inspire many.
Congratulations to Lynne McLennan and Janet Dore – Honorary Members, Committee for Ballarat.
